Katrina Watson has been named senior vice president of the community impact department for United Way of Central Alabama. Watson, the former executive director of The Literacy Council of Central Alabama, has worked for United Way agencies for nearly a decade, including from 2013-2017 when she led fund development at Oasis Counseling for Women and Children as director of development and communications. Watson, a BBJ 2019 40 Under 40 honoree, has received multiple honors in Birmingham as well as the Sam Gaston Excellence in Mentoring Award from the UAB MPA Alumni Society and is a graduate of both Leadership Birmingham and Alabama Leadership Initiative.
