Alabama Media Group will stop publishing The Birmingham News, Huntsville Times and Mobile Press-Register and Mississippi Press and will go strictly digital in 2023. Al.com leadership revealed the change on Nov. 3 and will 'shift to all-digital delivery' after Feb. 26, 2023. An e-edition, The Lede, will be sent to inboxes daily. The focus will shift to 'growing its local digital media brands including AL.com, The Alabama Education Lab, This is Alabama, People of Alabama and the Birmingham, Huntsville and Mobile editions of The Lede,' according to the report.
