Fourteen stocks in our Birmingham and Alabama Stock Report saw gains of at least 2% on Wednesday, while only five companies saw declines. ProAssurance Corporation stood tallest on our list with a 6.8% boost on the day. Headquartered in Birmingham, it is a property and casualty company that sells professional liability insurance to doctors. A newcomer to our list, Southern States Bancshares, Inc. had the second-biggest jump, pulling in a 4.7% gain to close at $21.50 a share. Its 52-week high is $31.
