Atlanta is drawing ever more film production to the Southeast. Its neighbor to the west is gaining momentum in the space too. 'Assassin,' starring Bruce Willis, was released last month. It was shot in Bessemer. Crews recently finished a sci-fi flick called 'The Shift,' in Birmingham. And a thriller, 'The Tutor,' starring former Nickelodeon Star Victoria Justice, is currently shooting in the metro. 'You look to your left, and you see a boutique hotel or tapas restaurant, or a really culturally sophisticated environment,' Ken Carpenter, producer of 'The Shift,' said.
