2 firefighters shot at fire station in Birmingham, Alabama; police search for shooter Two Alabama firefighters were shot while on duty at a fire station in Birmingham Wednesday in what police are investigating as a possible 'targeted attack,' authorities said. Around 8:30 a.m. local time, the Birmingham Police Department responded to a report of two Birmingham Fire Department firefighters being shot at Fire Station #9, officer Truman Fitzgerald said in a video posted on Facebook. Birmingham fire and rescue personnel arrived at the scene and transported the two firefighters to a nearby hospital, Fitzgerald said.
