Business leaders in the Birmingham-Hoover area predict a continued decline in economic conditions this quarter according to the most recent report from the Alabama Business Confidence Index (ABCI). But they are moving closer to an optimistic outlook as the year progresses . The index, established by the Culverhouse College of Business at the University of Alabama, is based on a survey completed by a panel of regional business leaders prior to each financial quarter. While many Birmingham-Hoover panelists anticipate capital expansion in the region in coming quarters, job hunters may not reap the rewards before the end of 2023 according to the report.
